Place & time

Utrecht's 'Park Transwijk' will transform into the winter festival site of Sneeuwbal Winterfestival on Saturday 27 January 2024. We start at 14:00 (2pm) and continue until 23:00 (11pm).

Minimum age

Will you come celebrate the coldest season with us during our 10 year anniversery? You can do so from the age of 18! Some staff may ask you for valid ID at the entrance, so bring your passport, ID or driving licence.

Lockers

Sneeuwbal Winterfestival takes place in the middle of winter. Areas are covered and heated, but there is a lot to do outside too. It is therefore smart to put on multiple layers of clothing that you can take off when needed. You can store these in lockers (safe boxes).

Dresscode

No Sneeuwbal Winterfestival without the funniest, craziest winter outfits! Ask your grandmother to knit a scarf, score that awsesome gloves, lend the hat of your sister and get that ski suit back from the attic.

Note: this is a winterfestival, so dress warm! It might be freezing...

Public transport

Park Transwijk is easily accessible by using the tram from Utrecht Central Station.

Follow the signs 'Jaarbeurs' to leave the station at the correct exit. When arriving at the stairs towards the big square, look to your right: you will see a small platform from which the tram departs. Both sides will bring you to the stop 'Vasco da Gammalaan', where you will have to get off and walk the last bit (5 minutes): walk back, cross the road and enter the park.

Rather take the bus? Bus 63, 65, 74 and 77  (all heading towards Nieuwegein or IJsselstein) will bring you to the same stop: 'Vasco da Gammalaan'.

Bicycle

Do you possess or have you rented a bike? This is how you cycle towards the festival site:

  • Start at Utrecht Central Station, 'Jaarbeurs' square and go left on the big road.
  • Cycle to the end of the Croeselaan and go right.
  • Cycle over the Balijebrug (bridge) and take the roundabout to the left. You will now enter the Europalaan.
  • After cycling here for a while, the gate to the park will appear on your right. Note: this is the only entrance to the festival. You can place your bike here and lock it.

Car

It is not possible to park next to the festival site. The closest option is at the Transferium Westraven (P+R).

You will be able to take tram 60 or 61 (leaves every 10 minutes) from here towards Utrecht Central Station. This will bring you to the stop 'Vasco da Gammalaan', where you will have to get off and walk the last bit (5 minutes): walk a bit further, cross the road and enter the park.

A ticket for parking & traveling by public transport is € 5,00 . You are able to pay for this at the parking with your Maestro or Mastercard.

Food

This season just ASKS for winter food! So... get ready to taste dutch soups, german bratwursts and other typical winter meals (an more regular tasty foods) at the winter food square.

Beverages

Sneeuwbal Winterfestival without hot Gluhwein? Don't think so! Of course you are also able to get some hot coco, coffee, tea... and cold beer, wine & more.

Payment Methods

You will be able to get all these foods and drinks by using Sneeuwbal tokens. These tokens are to be bought at the cash registers ('Muntenkassa') by using cash money or your Maestro card (no creditcards).
